Before she start her lesson she being introduce to all staff and teacher at that preschool. She also been given a mentor for make her easy to ask for an help. When she already get started she can not control the whole class. She also take the children to toilet without asking who want to go to. So, she has to send the child to the toilet repeatedly. After she come back from the toilet there have one of her students already relieved oneself. From there she realized that she need some help from her mentor. Then she go to her mentor for ask an help how to attract the children on her class and ask for some information from her mentor what she can do to handle her own class.

Next, we watch and discuss the video about the teacher attract the children to learn the lesson with many types of teaching materials that really colorful. TOPIC 10 & 11 : CURRICULUM EVALUATION CURRICULUM ISSUES AND TREND

Wednesday
29/03/2017

Today we discuss about topic 10 which is the last topic for this subject. Based on the topic we started or lesson by discuss about the evaluation that the all people through it especially for teacher and the children at school. Evaluation is the explanation that how we process by gathering the information or data, evaluate the weaknesses, strength and so on. For example, school assessment such like rubric, tests, exam and so on. These will be evaluate based on students assignment and works. The comprehensive evaluation of a curriculum will  be rate according to rubric and it was a tools for access the students works or assignment. The validity and curriculum evaluation is the tools of instrumen that one more comprehensive for students works. For example, checklist and running record. The best to evaluate the curriculum is based on data judgement, the students achievement by using the survey or checklist for the analysis.

The best curriculum design and teaching strategies are theoretical rationale. This is because it related to all tools that we use as teacher in teaching and doing the approaches. We need to state our aims and goals by know what the children or students can achieve in their learning follow the subject. Besides, we also can see based on the students performance by the activity that we do if they can do it or not. The product evaluation is what we already taught to them and they know how to do it. So, from here we can know the student evaluation based on the evaluation that we do which is start from cognitive, psychomotor, attitudes and the multiple activities and assessment such like summative (true or false, yes or no) and formative (checklist, running record).

There have five value question for teacher to the effectiveness of evaluation. It was Intrinsic value which is to see the internal of children. It also the one way how to evaluate the enjoy activity for both teacher and children to see the result. The Instrumental Value the curriculum design that have related with the attended audience which is the children on age 5 or 6 years old. The Comparative Value is the comparison between the KSPK and DSKP which one is better. The Idealization Value is in their idea have the evaluation or not. Then, the Decision Value. After making the all evaluation analysis, the decision will be make based on do comparison which curriculum design that have the good criteria and should it be retained, modified or discarded.

As the teacher, they must know the phases of evaluation. It is :
I.                    Focusing on the curricular phenomena to be evaluated (what)
II.                  Collecting the information
III.                Organizing the information
IV.                Analyzing the information
V.                  Reporting the information
VI.                Recycling the information (continual update)

These phases is fro teacher to set up what the things that be need to evaluate. For example, are the children know the ABC alphabet or not. Then, based on the collecting information the teacher can give the blank paper to children and ask them to write the 26 alphabet in big or small letter. When the teacher gather all the children work, the teacher needs to analyses by separated which children are good and weak. So, from there the teacher can report how many children already mastery the alphabet and not. After that, the teacher can doing the recycling information by giving another test to children to evaluate the children development.

TOPIC 8 & 9 : Curriculum Implementation

WEDNESDAY
22 March 2017

In this week, we proceed our learning for topic 8 and 9 “Curriculum Implementation”. Based on this topic we discuss about how the curriculum develop. Firstly is curriculum component which is what important subject for students. Then, curriculum contents is what the teacher teach it must related with the fact. It was a post modernism view knowledge as dynamic and evolutionary not static. The knowledge results from a structuring and reconstructing of perceived realities. Content is fact, concept, generalization, theories which are similar to disciplined knowledge and chemistry. How to select the content is by addressed the cognitive, social and psychological dimensions of the individual students. The content can be organized by knowledge organized based on theories and knowledge organized into domains. For example, number the domain of mathematics, physics has matter and energy. The criteria for selecting content is self-sunffiencienty, significant, interest, utility and learn ability.

Topic 6 & 7 : CURRICULUM DESIGN

Wednesday

Curriculum Design. In this topic we discuss about the arrangement of curriculum elements into substantive entity. In basic curriculum components, it must have aims, goals and objectives, subject matter, learning experiences and evaluation. It for teach the students about concept and skills which only one subject will be teach also tell what the students can gain after learning it. There have a few things in Curriculum design versus instructional design. It was sciences as a source which it was a scientific method provides meaning for the curriculum design that means where they can find some knowledge and ingredients for do it. This is because only those items that can be observed and quantified should be included.
Then, society as source which means what the other people and children needs in curriculum agent of society. Society shows where to modify the curriculum. Next, external and define source which means the curriculum design should be intended. Knowledge as a source is one of prime sources of curriculum. The learner as a source is what the students needs in subject and activity so that they can learn by doing (cognitive research). For scope of study is many such like theme and subtheme. But every theme it must sequences and articulation. Lastly is about three representive curriculum which is student-centered designing is for content and for process that have guide from the teacher. Then, learner-centered designs are based on student lives (interests, needs and empowerment). Problem-centered designs focus on problems of living and society.

Topic 5: Curriculum Design and Development

WEDNESDAY
15/03/2017

The definition of curriculum is curriculum was a racing chariot, currere was to run. In curriculum theory and practice there have 4 ways of approaching or looking at curriculum theory and practice. First is curriculum as a body of knowledge to be transmitted that related with syllabus which is means a short and clear statement or list of topics for discourse. For example, assignment and writing. Second is curriculum as a body of knowledge to be transmitted. It was about real purpose of education to bring about significant changes in the students pattern of behaviour. When the teacher finish teach they must show the result about what they teach the children. Before start the teaching and learning (activities) the teachers must set up the objectives that they want to achieve. Next is curriculum as product. It has the advantages and disadvantages. For advantage, the approach of curriculum theory, practice is systematic and has considerable “organizing power” is to providing a clear notion of outcome meanwhile for disadvantages program is outside the learning experiences of learners. This takes much away from the learner. It means the students only follow what the teacher ask and what they being ask to do. So, they will be no development happen to the students because they only do what been ask without use their brain to solve the work that been give. Third is about curriculum as process. It was another way of looking at curriculum theory. It also about the interaction between teacher, students and knowledge. Lastly is about curriculum as praxis. It means it was a process of learning the experiments

Topic 3 and 4 Philosophical Foundations & Psychological Foundations of Curriculum

WEDNESDAY
8 March 2017

We started our leon today  which our cover for 2 topic for this week. Topic 3 is about the "Philosophical Foundations". In this chapter we learn about wisdom (Love of Wisdom) and four major of philosophies. It was perennialism, essentialism, proggressivism an reconstructionism. Both of it was related towards foundations of curriculum. When we finish the topic 3 w continued for topic 4. In topic 4 we study about "Psychological Foundations of Curriculum". We started our topic with concept of learning which it have three theoretical schools of learning behaviourism, development, psychological and phenomenology and humanistic psychology. For phenomenology and humanistic it was about the problem solving and creative thinking children towards something that make children learn differently. For example, mix colour such like yellow mix blue will produce the green colour. This really can help the children to improve their critical thinking. Lastly, about humanistic which in here there have 3 popular theory such lik Maslow, Rogers and Raths.
